To say my girls are an inspiration to me is a huge understatement. But this week especially, I sit in awe of each of them. We are over in Dublin to watch Bailey and Colleen dance in the Irish Dance World Championships, a prestigious event that they qualified for at their regional and national championships. Of course I am proud of the hard work and dedication that has gone into their journey to get here, but I am in awe of their pure love for the sport, their thrill of the competition, and their ability to get up on that (huge) world stage in front of hundreds and put it all out on the dance floor.
And as I look at my sweet Meghan, who is here cheering them on, I am in awe of this kid’s perseverance and determination. She’s been sidelined for the better part of two years with broken sesamoids in both her feet (that pesky little bone in the ball of your foot). In and out of the dreaded boot, orthotics, foot pads, bone stimulators, rigorous PT…through it all she has never wavered from her goal of dancing her way to be an Open Champion.
Cliffs of Moher, Galway Bay, the Burren, Tipperary, Blarney Castle, Rock of Cashel, Newgrange, Hill of Tara, Kilmainham gaol, Book of Kells, Trinity…so fun sharing these amazing places with my girls. Beauty and inspiration are everywhere around us here. So until next week, sláinte!
